10th Annual Convocation: 2015

Dr. Benton really likes this tune . . .


Dr. Mark Hollingsworth, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, plays an original composition for the bagpipes, dedicated to Dr. Benton and the Honors Students on the occasion of the program's 30th anniversary and the 10th Annual Honors Convocation. Dr. Benton thanks the many faculty and students who have kept the Honors Program thriving for thirty years.

President Hargrave welcomes the incoming class of Honors students. Dr. Ken Andrews, chair of the department of Biology, is the 2015 Honors Teacher of the Year.

Senior biology and art major Darby Heard speaks about her summer Research Experience for Undergraduates at Notre Dame University. Sophomore art major Elsa Moseley talks about her study abroad experience in Russia.

Dr. Carl Gilbert, Dean of the College of Heath and Sciences, delivers the keynote address: "There is no elevator to success." Junior nursing major, Brittany Jolly, President of the Honors Student Association, sends us out with words of inspiration.
